The decade-by-decade guide to living longer — and living better.
David Goldfarb, DO, FACS
Physician and surgeon who served for 26 years as Chief of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center, with decades of clinical experience.
The Structure
Optimize energy, fertility, and the cellular habits that compound over decades.
Defend against metabolic drift, hormonal shifts, and early cardiovascular risk.
Cholesterol, cognitive reserve, and the interventions that matter most at midlife.
Muscle mass, bone density, and the longevity markers that predict your next decade.
Memory, mobility, and the science of staying fully alive — on your own terms.
Why This Book
Complex pathways — DNA repair, telomere biology, senescent cells — made vivid and usable. No PhD required.
A 30-year-old and a 60-year-old face different battles. This book meets you exactly where you are — not with one-size-fits-all advice.
Every intervention is categorized: proven, promising, or not ready. You get the truth — not the trend.
Why This Book
Not clinicians. Not researchers. People in their 30s through 90s who want honest, usable answers about how to age better.
Every claim traces back to published research. No trends, no influencer advice, no guesswork dressed up as science.
The biology of a 40-year-old and a 70-year-old are fundamentally different. The guidance in this book reflects that — chapter by chapter.
The goal is never to frighten you about aging. It's to show you how much control you actually have. The science is overwhelmingly optimistic.

This is a pretty interesting take on aging and longevity. It's the only book I've read that's organized by life stages (decade by decade), which I liked because it makes the advice feel more usable instead of just abstract health information. The science-heavy parts are also easier to follow because of the use of simple explanations and metaphors. It's not a quick read in parts, but overall it gives you a structured way to think about long-term health.

I highly recommend this interesting book that contains concise, practical knowledge for optimal health during all ages. I am grateful for the expertise, insight and information Dr. Goldfarb so brilliantly share. He does it in words we can all understand. This book guides us through practical ways to preserve our health at different decades of life. Dr. Goldfarb explores the myths, the research and the future of anti-aging with suggestions and a roadmap we can all use to the benefit of lasting health. Best of all there is no product promotion that we typically find with information on the internet. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am determined to use the path it provides for health going forward.
